Active cases of Covid-19 in Meghalaya cross the 100-mark for the first time since March, with 29 new cases recorded today. There were also nine recoveries and no fatalities.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 26 new infections, Eastern West Khasi Hills one, Ri-Bhoi one and West Garo Hills nine. In East Khasi Hills, 14 tested positive through screening and 12 are high-risk contacts who also tested positive.
There was one recovery in East Garo Hills, three in Ri-Bhoi and five in West Garo Hills.
There are now 102 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Khasi Hills 53, Eastern West Khasi Hills one, Ri-Bhoi eight, South West Garo Hills one and West Garo Hills 39.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,003 Covid-19 cases, of which 102 are active, 92,307 have recovered and 1,594 have died from the virus. Six patients are hospitalised for the disease – two in East Khasi Hills, two in Ri-Bhoi and two in West Garo Hills.
