In another accident on National Highway in Ri Bhoi, one person was seriously injured after an oil tanker he was driving rammed into another truck here tonight.
According to witnesses, the tanker (ML 05 Q 0280) was speeding when it struck the rear of a parked truck (ML 11 A 1404) on the highway at Downgate, Nongpoh.
The tanker driver, Debajit Phukan of Goalpara, Assam, was trapped in his damaged vehicle but was rescued with the help of locals and rushed to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
