The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya seized 29 cattle meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh from the bordering areas of East Khasi Hills, East and West Jaintia Hills district on May 14 and 15.
“The cattle were being brought clandestinely to the border areas through forest by miscreants when BSF intercepted them,” the BSf said in a statement today.
In Rattachera area under East Jaintia Hills, the cattle were being carried close to the international boundary inside a truck, which was also confiscated, the BSF added.
The seized cattle were handed over to concerned police outposts for further disposal.
