With the state government failing to clear their salary dues, SSA teachers will march on the Secretariat on Wednesday in protest.
The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) had demanded that the state government clear their salaries, which have been pending since October, by today otherwise they will march on the government headquarters.
The association leaders have appealed to all SSA teachers to come and participate in the march that will start from the Polo parking lot at 11:30am.
SSA teachers in Meghalaya have gone without salaries since October. The state government has argued that the SSA system is a central government undertaking and the state government can only pay the teachers when the funds arrive from the Centre. MSSASA disagrees with this interpretation of the situation.
