Rusted and damaged electricity poles are posing danger to people in Khliehmyntriang and Jalyiah villages in East Jaiñtia Hills district.
The issue was raised by the East Jaiñtia National Council (EJNC), Khliehmyntriang unit today who has also urged the MeECL in the district to carry out an inspection to check the condition of the electric poles and work out on replacements.
EJNC unit president Lector Dkhar said not just the electricity poles at different places in the village but power transformers installed at some places without fencing and safety walls pose a threat to the residents, particularly the children.
