A new unit headquarter of the BSF was on today inaugurated at Bewagre village in West Garo Hills district.
Spread out in an area of around 93 acres the new campus has state of art facilities for operational, training and administrative requirements of the unit.
BSF Meghalaya Fronter Inspector General Inderjit Singh Rana inaugurated the unit. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the support of the civil administration and local population in the setting up of the unit.
According to Rana, the establishment of the BSF campus would not only add to the security of the Baljek airport, which is situated near it, but also provide overall upliftment of the living standard of the local people by generating employment.
