With Covid-19 cases once again falling to below 300 new infections per day and with active cases just over 2,000, the state government has given permission once again for all public gatherings, events and meetings.
Such events were banned and restrictions were imposed on attendance at weddings and funerals on January 3 with the onset of the third wave of the Covid pandemic.
A Home (Political) Department notice today reversed those restrictions, though prior permission from the respective Deputy Commissioners of Sub-Divisional Officers is still required. Covid protocols, such as mask wearing, physical distancing and hand washing, must also still be adhered to.
