A one-week workshop on e-Content development and online pedagogy was inaugurated today by NEHU vice chancellor, PS Shukla.
Organised by the organized by UGC-HRDC, NEHU the workshop will include lectures with hands-on training in the preparation of proposal for e-content submission to SWAYAM MOOCs, accessing Open Educational Resources (OERs) and digital tools, video making, understanding Creative Commons License etc.
In his inaugural speech, Shukla felt that the time is right for such workshops to equip the teachers with the online teaching and learning procedures. As part of the Digital India Campaign, he emphasized on the importance of Information and Communication Technology, for the modern society in building skills, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving.
SWAYAM (Study Web in Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), the Indian Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) platform provides opportunities to teachers to create and host their online courses.
The Vice-Chancellor was hopeful that the workshop would promote the teachers as e-content developers and transfer quality knowledge to the students through such learning management systems.
