Meghalaya recorded two new Covid-related fatalities today, along with 70 infections and 14 recoveries.
One of the deceased was in East Khasi Hills and the other in West Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed. These were the second and third fatalities linked to the coronavirus in the state this year.
East Khasi Hills recorded 62 new cases (including 10 in the Pohkseh West II cluster, seven health workers and six armed forces personnel), Ri-Bhoi four, West Garo Hills two, South West Khasi Hills one and West Khasi Hills one.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 11 recoveries, West Garo Hills two and Ri-Bhoi one.
There are now 448 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 371 active cases, West Garo Hills 45, Ri-Bhoi 15, West Jaiñtia Hills seven, South West Khasi Hills four, East Jaiñtia Hills three, North Garo Hills one, West Khasi Hills one, East Garo Hills one, South Garo Hills zero and South West Garo Hills zero.
In all, Meghalaya has had 85,304 Covid-19 cases, of which 448 are active, 83,369 have recovered and 1,487 have died from the virus.
