The All Meghalaya Minorities Students’ Union (AMMSU) today lent its support to the demand for a stay order with regards to the transfer of Bhaitbari CHC, Medical & Health Officer (M&HO), Dr Mukta Miah.
The union in a letter to the Health Minister said the doctor was sincere in his duties and his transfer has created concerns especially due to the expected spread of the Omicron strain of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stating that there have been no complaints from local residents as the doctor has been extremely helpful and worked 24/7 when required the union through its letter sought his immediate stay.
Earlier residents of the same area had also requested a stay in the transfer of the doctor over the impeccable work being done by him.
Dr Miah has been transferred to the Mahendraganj CHC in South West Garo Hills district.
