The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan successfully organised a ‘Youth Club Development Campaign’ at Mawpat Block, which was conducted by S Rymbai and B Lyngdoh, the NYVs of the block.
The programme began on November 8 and ended with a meeting today at the Indoor Stadium in Jingkieng, Nongthymmai, in the presence of Pyniaid Sing Syiem, MLA of Mawryngkneng, who was the chief guest.
Youth clubs from 32 areas under Mawpat block participated in the programme.
The ‘Youth Club Development Campaign’ aims at forming new clubs and strengthening the existing network of clubs with a representation of all classes of society.
A speech was delivered by D Rapsang briefing on the schemes and the aids that the government provides to different clubs that work for the upliftment and betterment of the community. He also stressed on the guidelines on how to form a new youth club and also encouraged the clubs to affiliate with NYKS and with other government establishments as well.
Syiem encouraged the youths to come forward and to do something in order to promote their community. He also said that many times the youths end up falling prey into drugs, which steals away their dreams and success. Therefore, he encouraged the youths to have the spirit to work hard and be leaders.
