There were just 52 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, along with 72 recoveries and two fatalities.
This breaks the six-month low record of 55 cases set on October 17.
One of the fatalities was in East Khasi Hills and the other in West Jaintia Hills. One of the deceased was unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 19 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 27 and there were six between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 48 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 18 and 10 between the other nine districts.
There are now 735 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 454 active cases, West Khasi Hills 168, West Jaintia Hills 44, Ri-Bhoi 32, West Garo Hills 18, South West Khasi Hills five, East Jaintia Hills four, South West Garo Hills four, East Garo Hills two, North Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,210 Covid-19 cases, of which 735 are active, 81,034 have recovered and 1,441 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.38 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 68.00 (lowest since April 15) and for new deaths is 1.43.
