The number of new Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya fell to 95 today, the lowest figure since April 18. There were also 152 recoveries and two fatalities.
One death was in East Khasi Hills and one in Ri-Bhoi. One of the two was unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 35 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 16, West Jaiñtia Hills 14, Ri-Bhoi 12 and 18 between the other seven districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 69 recoveries, West Jaiñtia Hills 41, South West Khasi Hills 15, West Khasi Hills 13 and 14 between the other seven districts.
There are now 1,693 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 797 active cases, West Khasi Hills 403, Ri-Bhoi 194, West Jaiñtia Hills 178, South West Khasi Hills 55, West Garo Hills 29, East Jaiñtia Hills 22, East Garo Hills five, South West Garo Hills five, North Garo Hills three and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 80,992 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,693 are active, 77,902 have recovered and 1,397 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 96.18 percent. The fatality is 1.72 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 167.86 and for new deaths is 2.29.
