There were only 86 recoveries from Covid-19 in Meghalaya today, the lowest figure since April 25. There were also 229 new infections, the third day out of the last four with over 200, and three fatalities.
All three of the deaths were in East Khasi Hills. Two of the three were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 132 new cases today, West Jaiñtia Hills 53, South West Khasi Hills 13, Ri-Bhoi 10 and 21 between the other seven districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 48 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 20 and 18 between the other nine districts.
There are now 1,804 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 828 active cases, West Khasi Hills 311, West Jaiñtia Hills 287, Ri-Bhoi 164, South West Khasi Hills 91, West Garo Hills 55, East Jaiñtia Hills 29, East Garo Hills 14, North Garo Hills 12, South West Garo Hills 11 and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 78,958 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,804 are active, 75,784 have recovered and 1,370 have died from the virus. The recovery rate decreased to 95.98 percent. The fatality stayed level at 1.74 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases rose to 181.29 and climbed for new deaths to 4.43.
