Active Covid-19 cases dropped below 2,000 in Meghalaya for the first time in months today to stand at 1,929.
Statewide there were 136 new infections today, 307 recoveries and four fatalities.
Three of the deaths were in East Khasi Hills and one in Ri-Bhoi. All four were of unvaccinated people, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 63 new cases today, Ri-Bhoi 21, West Khasi Hills 16, West Garo Hills 15, West Jaintia Hills 13 and eight between the other six districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 132 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 77, West Jaintia Hills 47, South West Khasi Hills 19, Ri-Bhoi 12 and 20 between the other six districts.
There are now 1,929 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 952 active cases, West Khasi Hills 370, Ri-Bhoi 197, West Jaintia Hills 149, South West Khasi Hills 109, West Garo Hills 85, East Jaintia Hills 34, East Garo Hills 18, North Garo Hills six, South West Garo Hills five and South Garo Hills four.
In all, Meghalaya has had 77,280 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,929 are active, 74,018 have recovered and 1,333 have died from the virus. The recovery rate increased to 95.78 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.72 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases rose to 206.29 and stayed level for new deaths at 3.14.
