The seven-day rolling average of Covid-19 cases hit a four-month low today, standing at 216.29. There were 264 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, as well as 323 new recoveries and four fatalities.
Two deaths were in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi and one in West Khasi Hills. All four were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 156 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 50, Ri-Bhoi 25 and 33 among the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 136 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 94, West Khasi Hills 51, West Jaiñtia Hills 22, West Garo Hills 11 and nine among the other six districts.
There are now 2,263 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,230 active cases, West Khasi Hills 307, Ri-Bhoi 252, West Jaiñtia Hills 183, South West Khasi Hills 103, West Garo Hills 85, East Jaiñtia Hills 43, East Garo Hills 22, South West Garo Hills 19, South Garo Hills 10 and North Garo Hills nine.
In all, Meghalaya has had 76,100 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,263 are active, 72,522 have recovered and 1,315 have died from the virus. The recovery rate increased to 95.30 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 216.29 and stayed level for new deaths at 3.29.
