There were 134 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, the lowest figure in more than four months. There were also 260 new recoveries and one fatality.
The lone death was of an unvaccinated person in Ri-Bhoi, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 78 new cases today, Ri-Bhoi 25, West Jaintia Hills 12 and 19 among the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 128 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 45, West Garo Hills 27, West Khasi Hills 26, West Jaintia Hills 21 and 13 among the other six districts.
There are now 2,509 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,313 active cases, Ri-Bhoi 339, West Khasi Hills 334, West Jaintia Hills 199, South West Khasi Hills 138, West Garo Hills 81, East Jaintia Hills 37, South West Garo Hills 22, North Garo Hills 17, East Garo Hills 16 and South Garo Hills 13.
In all, Meghalaya has had 75,735 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,509 are active, 71,919 have recovered and 1,307 have died from the virus. The recovery rate increased to 94.96 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 237.86 and dropped for new deaths to 3.71.
