East Khasi Hills today became the fourth district in Meghalaya to vaccinate 50 per cent of its targeted population.
Out of a target of more than 5.64 lakh people, 2.83 lakh have now received at least one dose of the Covishield vaccine in the district.
The other districts to have crossed 50 percent are South West Garo Hills (64.79 per cent), East Jaiñtia Hills (60.53 per cent) and West Garo Hills (54.46 per cent).
Out of these four districts, EKH has administered the second-highest percentage of second doses of the vaccine, with 13.8 per cent of the targeted population being double-jabbed. SWGH leads on this metric with 15 per cent, while EJH is on 14.1 per cent and WGH 12.8 per cent.
In the state as a whole, around 46 per cent (9.46 lakh out of 20.25 lakh) of eligible people have gotten at least one jab, while 11.8 percent are double-jabbed.
