South West Garo Hills today crossed the 50 percent mark of those targeted to receive one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The district has seen 47,234 people receive their first dose, which is 50.34 percent of the target of 93,836. Meanwhile, 6,025 people have gotten their second jab in the district.
By first dose target, South West Garo Hills is the best performing district in Meghalaya. Second is East Khasi Hills (43.77 percent), followed by West Garo Hills (43.17 percent). At the bottom is North Garo Hills (21.89 percent).
In all, 10,496 doses of the Covid vaccine were administered today. Yesterday, the Chief Minister expressed his hope of dishing out twice that number daily in order to vaccinate all those eligible for the jab by the end of the year.
