All 18 beds set aside for Covid-19 patients in Nongpoh Civil Hospital are occupied, according to the latest data from the Health Department today.
The Nongpoh Civil Hospital is the only facility listed to treat coronavirus patients. It has 16 oxygen-supported beds and two in the intensive care unit (ICU) for such patients.
Other institutes in a similar state include Ganesh Das Hospital in Shillong where all 42 Covid beds are occupied.
Meanwhile, the occupancy rate of Covid-19 beds in Shillong hospitals has remained at 86 percent, but is still higher than the 74 percent all-Meghalaya figure.
Health Department data shows that there are now 1,022 such beds allocated for the treatment of Covid-19 patients (135 in ICUs and 887 oxygen-supported beds). As of today, 756 are occupied all over Meghalaya. In Shillong the figure is 638 occupied out of 744.
