The Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has criticized the state government for, it says, lacking responsibility towards frontline workers who tested positive of the Covid-19.
“We learned that the frontline workers who contracted Covid-19 in hospitals and staying at the Corona Care Centre, Umsawli, are fending for themselves, right from the food, medicines and even rent,” FKJGP president Wellbirth Rani said.
He said that though the government is using frontline workers as soldiers, it forgets about them when they become infected with the virus they are fighting against.
