Unidentified persons broke into the post office at Mawkyrwat by breaking the lock and latches of the door and stole cash, letters and a computer monitor.
While the incident took place on the night of April 4, it came to light only the next day at 10: 30 am after which an FIR was lodged at the Mawkyrwat police station.
According to the Sub Post Master (SPM) B. Thongni miscreants were able to steal coins worth about Rs 4000 including 18 speed post letters, an ordinary letter, a registered letter and an Acer computer.
Police has registered a case and investigation has begun.
