Five people were detained by members of the Khasi Students’ Union Mawkyrwat Circle and Mawlangwir Unit today from Madan Saitsnad for failing to provide documents related to their visit.
KSU unit general secretary, Junebirthson Lyngdoh stated that the persons did not disclose their purpose of visit to South West Khasi Hills even as he said that the entry and exit point at Umling set up in Ri Bhoi district to check entrance seemed not to function as people were allowed to enter without any documentation.
Finance secretary of the Mawkyrwat circle, Plosborlin Kharjahrin said that entry without any valid reasons and proper documentation should not be allowed.
The five persons were later handed to police at Mawkyrwat Police Station.
