An alert North Garo Hills (NGH) police, just prior to the advent of Christmas, on December 24, recovered a huge stock of IMFL that was meant to be sold during dry days.
The vice raids were conducted after information that some miscreants had started stocking liquors for selling in the black market.
However, the efforts of the miscreants to earn a fast buck, was stopped by a team of Mendipathar PS that conducted vice raids and recovered 13 cartons of IMFL including few crates of beer. These have been duly seized and necessary actions are being taken up against the miscreants as was reported by police sources
“These preventive actions are being taken to minimize the accidents due to drinking and driving, and committing other crimes under the influence of alcohol during the time of dry days,” said an official statement by the NGH police.
