A panel discussion on the topic “NEP (National Education Policy) 2020: Aspiring to transform”, with esteemed panelists consisting of academics, administrators and researchers from all over the country, was organised today by Women’s College Shillong.
The panel discussion was inaugurated by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui in the presence of Education India Trust President BB Dutta, North-Eastern Hill University’s (NEHU) Controller of Examinations Debashish Choudhury and Women’s College Rector Rajesh Deb and Principal Ratnadeep Roy in the presence of distinguished guests, faculty members and a few students. The panel discussion was moderated by NEHU Professor of Anthropology, TB Subba.
In his speech Rymbui said that technology has given the world so much but has its limitations and cannot takeover classroom teaching. The NEP, he added, has come at the right time and he hoped that this seminar would shed more light on how to take the policy forwards, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The minister also inaugurated the college’s new website at the function. For the benefit of those who could not attend in person, the seminar was also streamed live online.
