Officials of the PWD Mawkyrwat division today conducted a spot verification of ongoing road improvement from ÏewMariemto WahPhotstew following complaints that the stretch was constructed using substandard materials.
HYC Umdohlun circle had earlier complaint that the road constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) was not up to the mark and blamed the contractor for the slipshod work.
HYC circle president Moonkingstar L. Paliar said that the GSB (Granular Sub Base) Grade II bad III and the WBM (Water Bound Macadam) was not properly executed in the construction of the road.
Meanwhile, the PWD officials led by Executive Engineer (EE) M. Mawroh said that the department would ensure that quality work is provided for the construction of the road.
