Shillong, Oct 27: The Meghalaya government has announced that all state government offices, revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills shall remain closed on November 2, 2026 as a local holiday on account of Nongkrem Dance.
However, the local holiday shall not apply to central government offices.
Further, the state government under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 has declared the day as a holiday for all banks and financial institutions in East Khasi Hills.
This was informed by the Commissioner and Secretary in the General Administration Department.
