Shillong, Mar 12: A training programme on Sexual Harassment Electronic Box (She-Box) and Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace was held in North Garo Hills yesterday.
The programme was organised by the district administration in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department at the Multi Cooperative Society Hall, Mendipathar.
Heads of offices and staff from various line departments, including members of the Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 attended the training programme.
Participants were sensitised on the provisions of the POSH Act, the roles and responsibilities of ICCs, procedures for filing and addressing complaints, and the use of the She-Box portal for online submission and monitoring of complaints related to workplace sexual harassment.
Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute Assistant Director I. Warjri, who was the resource person for the programme, briefed the gathering on the key provisions of the Act, the importance of ensuring a safe and respectful workplace environment, and the mechanism for effective grievance redressal through She-Box and the ICC framework.
