Shillong, Feb 17: Residents of Mawrapad have accused the Sub-Inspector of the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) office and the Rangbah Shnong Kyrmenskhem Shangdiar of corruption.
The issue is about the controversial relocation of Mawrapad Lower Primary School to the village dorbar hall, depriving students of benefits from educational resources.
According to Pynshongdor Shangdiar, a local resident, the new location is entirely unsuitable for educational activities. “A dorbar hall is not a proper place for a school,” he said.
He highlighted that the relocation has led to missed mid-day meals and access to textbooks from the Cluster Resource Centre (CRC).
Furthermore, the absence of proper water supply from the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme for students at the dorbar hall has raised further concerns.
Villagers have urged authorities to take immediate action against the sub-inspector and remove him from his post to restore educational standards in Mawrapad.
