Shillong, Feb 16: The National People’s Party (NPP) has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council elections, which includes 24 names.
The list released by NPP state party president Prestone Tynsong, covers constituencies in West, South, and North Garo Hills.
The candidates include Jewil S. Marak (Wagesik), Sengchim N. Sangma (Gasuapara), Kapilson A. Sangma (Barengapara), Rakesh A. Sangma (Babelapara), Balsrang Arengh (Amongpara), Charmingstar N. Sangma (Tura ), Linekar K. Sangma (Nogorpara), Sanjay A. Sangma (Zikzak), Sanjay Koch (Betasing), Arbinstone B. Marak (Rochonpara), Andresh Ch. Marak (Balachanda), Maxwell M. Sangma (Batabari), Grahambell A. Sangma (Jengjal ), Sunny Rogers G. Momin (Rongrong ), Pongseng R. Marak (Bolsong), Dolly K Sangma (Damas ), Mody M. Sangma (Kharkutaa), Nihim D Shira (Samandagre), Henen R. Sangma (Darugre), Sengbath R. Marak (Williamnagar), Peterjob A. Sangma (Shyamnagar) Calis G Momin (Siju) , Anseng A. Sangma (Asanang) and Kredithoson Ch. Marak (Dengnakpara).
The party is yet to decide on candidates for five constituencies: Raksamgre, Naguapara, Boldamgre, Silkigre, and Rongrikkimgre.
The GHADC elections are a crucial test for the NPP, and the party is expected to announce more candidates soon.
