Nongpoh, Dec 30: Temjen Imna Along, a cabinet minister in Nagaland and social media personality, visited Upper Balian village in Byrnihat today to participate in a programme commemorating the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The programme was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jirang mandal and was attended by Along, who is the Tourism and Education Minister of Nagaland, as chief guest in the presence of BJP state president Rikman G Momin, and other local leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Along, also a BJP member, expressed his happiness at being able to take part in the celebration of Vajpayee’s birth anniversary. He stated that Vajpayee, whose birthday falls on December 25, was a great national leader whose birth anniversary deserves to be remembered with special reverence.
The Nagaland minister further remarked that during Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister, he successfully initiated and implemented numerous developmental works that benefited the people of the entire country, with special emphasis on the welfare and development of the North Eastern states.
