Shillong, Dec 21: A pre-Christmas celebration was held near the SP Office, Williamnagar, where cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak inaugurated a newly constructed resting place called ‘Neng·takram’ amidst festive light decorations.
The event was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range, JFK Marak, and other dignitaries. Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills, Stephen A Rynjah, explained that ‘Neng·takram’ was built to provide a comfortable resting space for visitors to the SP Office, especially those from distant areas.
The rest spot is open to everyone, not just visitors to the SP Office. Marak credited the Police Infrastructure and Renovation Scheme for helping renovate several police buildings across the state.
Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Williamnagar, delivered a Christmas message emphasising hope, peace and joy.
