Jowai, Dec 20: Aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for young learners, a Children’s Adolescents Digital Library was inaugurated at Mooshrot village, West Jaintia Hills district by Laskein Block Development Officer Dr. F. R Shadap.
Speaking on the occasion, Shadap stated that the library has been designed to cater specifically to children and adolescents by providing access to modern learning tools and educational resources, that will be equipped with books, computers and internet enabled digital learning materials, the facility aims to bridge the educational gap and promote digital literacy among students. He added that the centre would enable learners to explore opportunities beyond their regular academic curriculum, encouraging creativity and independent learning.
Block Technical Assistant (BTA) of Sahsniang Circle Weimonlangki Biam emphasised the importance of cooperation and community participation for overall development, stating that collective efforts are essential to achieve sustainable progress.
Headman of the village, Janai Suchiang expressed his gratitude to the BDO for the digital library, noting that the initiative would greatly benefit children and adolescents of the village.
He informed that the Mooshrot village comprises 508 households with a population of approximately 3,000 and highlighted the developmental needs of the community. He appealed for continued guidance, cooperation and support assistance for the development of the village.
