Nongpoh, Dec 7: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jirang Mandal has not only begun reaching out to the public to highlight various developmental initiatives undertaken under the leadership of the BJP-led central government, but has also started strengthening the party’s organisational activities in preparation for the 2028 Assembly elections in Meghalaya.
As part of this effort, the Mandal has convened meetings with party leaders as well as individuals intending to join the BJP.
Under the leadership of the BJP Jirang Mandal president Albertus Lapang, a meeting was held on Saturday at Harlibagan village in the Byrnihat area to discuss party-related matters and to further reinforce the organisation ahead of the 2028 polls from Jirang constituency.
The meeting was attended by BJP state vice-president Khrawboklang Basaiamoit, Delina Nonglait, who is in charge of Ri-Bhoi, Hemanta Timung, state president of the ST Morcha, Sen Thabah, district president, along with other leaders of the BJP.
Several individuals from other political parties who intend to join the BJP were also present, including Opos Lapang, Romes Syngkli and Rison Pohshna, among others.
