Nongpoh, Dec 7: The Central Silk Board organised a knowledge sharing programme under the guidance of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) at the Integrated Textiles and Tourism Centre in Nongpoh, which saw participation from entrepreneurs representing various North East states.
Several experts and resource persons delivered presentations on key topics. Naveen Dhingra, Chief General Manager of NABARD Assam, spoke on GI crafts in the handloom sector. Bhaskar Baruah, Export Promotion (WPCH) Assam, deliberated on the export of handicrafts. Mara Kocho, Managing Director of NEHHDC Assam, discussed the handloom and handicraft industries.
Other speakers included representatives of relevant state government government departments and entities, such as Tshering Tobgay Bhutia (Sikkim), Alangbam Jeeten Singh (Manipur), Ajit Sukla Das (Tripura), and Dorjee Phuntso (Arunachal Pradesh).
