Shillong, Sep 28: In a bid to conserve and protect the aquatic life of the Riat-tham River, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) today released fishlings into the water body.
The event was a collaborative effort between the KSU’s Phudumiap, Phlangdiloin, Nongmluh and Phlangmawprah area units, along with the Dorbar Shnong Pyllun.
To further emphasise the importance of preserving the river’s ecosystem, the KSU also erected warning signboards along the stretch of Riat-tham, cautioning against destructive activities that harm the aquatic life.
