Ri Bhoi police apprehended three suspected drug peddlers during an enforcement operation conducted at Umsning.
Based on credible inputs, that one drugs supplier namely Wellborn Khongjoh alias Bull is on his way from Nongpoh to Shillong along with two more drug peddlers with suspected contrabands and planning to sell the same to an unknown drug peddlers/consumer, a police team conducted an operation last night.
During the operation, at around 9.45 pm a Maruti Baleno car bearing registration number ML-05AB-9902 proceeding from Nongpoh towards Shillong side was intercepted at NH-06 Guwahati-Shillong lane at Nongthymmai junction.
Three occupants identified as Wellborn Khongjoh of Kynjoin Umran, Fedrick Kharkrang and Pascal Kharkrang, both of Shangbangla were in possession of heroin weighing about 10.9 grams.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, police said.
