Two persons were arrested while another managed to escape following a police check at Mawsynram today.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said the checking resulted in the recovery of three stolen bikes.
He said two bikes bearing registration numbers ML 05AD 3852 and ML05 AE 1218 were stolen from Shillong and another AS19 N 8664 from Assam.
The arrested persons are Sengku M Marak (24) and Cornalius Mukhim (18). The rider who fled the scene had abandoned the bike.
