A 10 year old boy who was missing since Saturday was found murdered, his body lying in a jungle with injuries on his forehead and face at Umtangar area in Ri Bhoi district.
According to the police, the body of the boy was discovered inside the jungle, which was near his residence on February 18.
Police identified the boy as Kitborlang Marbaniang, son of Diona Marbaniang and Synshar Nonghyndah who went missing on February 17. He was the fourth sibling among six brothers and a sister.
Kirborlang had gone out with his friends on that day and failed to return home, police said.
An FIR has been lodged at Patharkhmah police station and investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime.
