One person was killed and another injured in a road traffic accident that occurred today at 12 Mile, under Byrnihat police outpost, in Ri-Bhoi.
Sunil Deka was killed on the spot and another person, identified as Vidyut Doloi, was injured. The latter was taken to Byrnihat Primary Health Centre for treatment. Deka’s body was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for an autopsy.
The two victims are from Anbher village, which is under Jorabat police outpost.
It is unknown what sort of vehicle it was that was involved in the incident but police are investigating.
