Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today visited Don Bosco Technical School here and distributed completion certificates and appointment letters to the passing out students.
Interacting with the students, Sangma said, “I can see a sense of passion and a spark and a desire to do something in all of you and that is the most important aspect in life.” He added that the youth is a great strength to Meghalaya and the country but there is a challenge to use this workforce of the youth in a productive manner.
The state government has been working to scientifically map the skills that are required to boost Meghalaya’s economic growth and sustain it for future.
Lauding Don Bosco Technical School, the Chief Minister said that the government has a target of creating 5 lakh job opportunities in different sectors and assured that the government will partner with Don Bosco Technical School in a larger way to achieve this target.
“Don Bosco Technical School will be a great partner for the government of Meghalaya to complement and supplement each other and scale up the targets and goals that we have and achieve it together,” he added while urging the technical school to upgrade and integrate its courses to keep up with changing needs and technology.
