Meghandini Mahila Samiti, a voluntary women organisation, organised a programme for free distribution of study materials to the downtrodden and deprived children of the society.
This activity is performed by the organisation as a part of its annual social assistance programme where students of Short Round Lower Primary School, Lawmali were benefitted.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Manbor Warjri, an eminent scholar from Sankardev College, Shillong, lauded the work of the Samiti towards social uplift and women empowerment.
Meanwhile, the Samiti intends to conduct similar activity in ten more city schools in the near future.
