An ovarian tumour weighing 7 kilogram was successfully removed from the abdomen of a female patient at Williamnagar Civil Hospital.
The team of doctors who conducted the surgery was led by Dr Vince Momin, a gynaecologist at the hospital. He was assisted by Dr Conrad Marak (anaesthesiologist), Dr Dipali Sangma (anaesthesiologist) and assisted by Dr Mepalchi Sangma (Emoc) along with three senior nurses- Eulyn Marak, John Marak and Pringchi Marak.
This is the first time that the government-run hospital conducted a complicated surgery.
