Editor,
I am a member of a prestigious club in Maharashtra and have been following the Suresh Singh case including the various letters to the editor on the matter.
While it is evident that Mr. Singh is a member of Rotary Club and Director of two prestigious clubs of Shillong, what is intriguing is the clout he carries since neither the Shillong Club, Golf Club nor Rotary Club have thought it fit to terminate his membership.
It defies logic but it appears that there must be something in common between the directors of the Shillong Club, Golf Club and also the Rotary Club or else any respectable club has very clear cut rules and any member bringing disrepute to its name is compulsorily terminated, more so, when the person is arrested. There is more to it than meets the eye.
