The West Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner has directed wholesalers and retailers of essential commodities in the district not to create an artificial crisis by hoarding essential commodities or trading them on the black market.
The DC also ordered that sufficient buffer stocks are maintained and that they be sold only according to their maximum retail price (MRP) and within their expiry date.
Failure to comply with the order will elicit strict action against the guilty under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act 1995 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
