Shillong, Feb 28: St. Edmund’s College began its week-long students’ festival, ‘EDBLAZON’ with a colourful inaugural ceremony held at the campus quadrangle.
College Principal Br. Sunil Britto, Vice Principal, Dean, Director (Student Affairs), and faculty were among those present.
Four retiring faculty members were felicitated and graced the program as guests of honour.
The theme selected for this year’s edition of the extravaganza is ‘ANIMA AD MELIORA’, which translates to mean “the spirit of striving towards excellence.”
The programme started with the traditional procession of dignitaries and guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the Edmundian torch. The Principal then unfurled the college flag and also unveiled the college week logo.
General Animator of the College week, Chiara Massar in her welcome address elaborated further on the theme chosen for the week. The inauguration ended with a vibrant display of cultures and attire in the traditional Cultural Walk, showcasing all ethnic groups represented in the student population of the institution.
