A “Waste to Art” competition was today organised by NEIGRIHMS as part of the Swachhata Mein Jan Bhaagidari of the ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva campaign.
The staff and their family members showcased their talent through various innovative models made from various hospitals and general waste from home.
The institute also collaborated with the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Shillong to make a wider impact on spreading the message of waste recycling.
Around 35 volunteers from the IHM took part in the competition and a total of 20 models were displayed by the participants.
The winners at the competition were the IHM groups led by Heno P, Daphishisha Khonglah and Twinklestar Nongbri who won the first, second and third prize respectively.
Meanwhile, the institute organised a free health camp for sanitation staff under the campaign which was attended by over 100 sanitation personnel who availed health check-ups.
The camp was conducted by the resident doctors, interns, nursing personnel of NEIGRIHMS with the support of sanitary inspectors.
