The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has sought public support to hand over a memorandum to the Chief Minister for review of the job reservation policy and to stop operation of the roster system.
VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh during a press conference today said that the party will meet Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on May 12 to hand over the memorandum.
The party with four MLAs will lead the public to the Secretariat after it held several public rallies to highlight the flaws and disadvantages of the present roster system and job reservation policy.
Myrboh said the party had sought for a special session of the Assembly to discuss the issue and the government has not responded.
He said until the quota policy is reviewed recruitment to different departments is in ‘total disregard’ to the interest of the youth.
Myrboh warned that the party will not be responsible for any untoward incident, even as he appealed to the public to maintain peace, calm, and respect for law and order when the party submits its memorandum.
