The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) has demanded the State government upgrade of all ad hoc schools to the deficit system of government support by April 30, 2024.
A resolution was taken at the general meeting of the federation held in Nongstoin on October 7.
“If the government do not pay heed to the demand, the federation would again come to the street with different types of agitation programmes,” FASTOM Publicity Secretary EG War in a statement today said.
The meeting which was attended by thousands of adhoc school teachers also held a confirmation of the central executive members for 2023-2026.
FASTOM will be led by Diningroy Marwein as president, vice President Sanborn Jungai and Kinstar Momin, general secretary Sainbor John Lyngdoh and others. The federation in the Garo Hills region will be led by Elvis R Marak as the president.
