Editor,
Apropos the letter titled “Unfair Practices in Umshyrpi College” published on April 21, 2026 in your esteemed daily, I wish to express my deep concern and disappointment. Being a bona fide student of the college, I am pained to see such a misconstrued and misleading representation of facts.
The title itself is highly inappropriate, as it unfairly humiliates and maligns the institution without substantiated evidence. While it is true that the college may not boast flamboyant infrastructure, it provides facilities that are adequate and functionally optimum for academic purposes.
The administration of the college is highly considerate and dedicated to the welfare of students. The teachers are efficient, supportive and genuinely concerned about the academic and personal development of the students. The administration is also known for its leniency and understanding, especially in addressing students’ problems.
It is worth mentioning that this institution stands out for its compassionate policies, particularly in allowing delayed payment of fees, thereby supporting students from economically weaker backgrounds. The administration often extends deadlines and provides opportunities until the last moment to ensure that no student is deprived of education. At the same time, the Principal consistently issues timely guidance and warnings to maintain academic discipline and ensure effective learning.
The anonymous nature of the letter raises doubts about the intent behind it, suggesting that it may have been written with a hidden motive rather than a genuine concern for improvement. Such disinformation campaigns, carried out under the cover of anonymity, should not be taken seriously.
Umshyrpi College has long been a nurturing ground for underprivileged students, helping them achieve excellence despite limited resources. It is disheartening to see such an institution being unfairly criticised.
